Stain Removal Guide - K

By Kimberly Duncan

Ketchup Stains
Ketchup stains are very easy to get on clothes. When this happens, get a spoon and scrape away the excess ketchup from the fabric. Start scraping from the edges of the stain and work your way inwards. After this, soak the stained area in cold water. Keep it soaked until you notice that most of the stain has been removed. You can leave it soaked overnight if the stain has been there for a long time. After soaking, rinse the clothing and squeeze all the excess water away. Mix a few drops of dishwashing liquid with water. Get a piece of cloth and dab the cloth with the solution. Use the part of the cloth that is wet with the solution and blot the stained area with it. Make sure never to rub the affected area as this may cause the stain to spread.

When you are finished with this, wash the garment with warm water. Do not iron it until the stain is completely removed. If the stain is still there, try using ammonia or meat tenderizer and follow the same steps taken when dishwashing liquid was used.
