Stain Removal Guide - Y

By Kimberly Duncan
Published: February 2, 2009

Yam Stains
Yam spilled on clothing should be immediately scraped off with a knife or spoon. Treat the stain with warm water. Allow the yam residues to be removed from the material. If not all of the stain is removed, soak the fabric in a solution of cold water and detergent. Rinse off and wash the fabric as usual.

Yeast Stains
Yeast stains are not only visually annoying but can also produce pungent odor. It is therefore important to soak any piece of clothing that is stained with yeast with a solution of cold water and strong liquid detergent. If the stain is still present, scrub it off with toothpaste. Soak overnight with the same solution until the stain is completely removed.
