Stain Removal Guide - J

By Kimberly Duncan

Jam Stains
Remove as much jam as possible by scraping it off using a spoon or knife. Use extra care in doing this so as not to damage the fabric. Prepare a solution composed of detergent and cold water. Make sure not to use hot water because will make the stain permanent. You can do a patch test on a hidden portion before treating the stained area. Apply the solution to the stained fabric. Use the back of the spoon to massage the stain. Work from the outside in. Find a light-colored cloth and press it against the stain to lift off the stain residues. Wash and launder as usual.

Juice Stains
Quickly rinse and wash off juice stains from fabric with very cold water. Avoid using any strong detergent as this may make the stain permanent. If the fruit juice stain is difficult to remove, use white vinegar. Dab the vinegar on the stain with the use of a sponge. Rinse off and repeat the procedure until the stain is completely removed.
